Sylwia Wiesenberg, the founder of the intensive exercise practice known as Tonique Fitness, knows a thing or two about living a healthy lifestyle. Now, this fitness guru has set her sights on the inner beauty category with a new line called Dope Naturally, a superfood blend that can help users “ditch the false promises of most ‘pure’ or so called ‘clear’ powders and nutritional bars which are full of fillers and cheap ingredients, and creams that work only on the outside.”

It’s a tall order, but Wiesenberg seems has the energy and drive to make it work—and she insists Americans are finally ready for beauty from inside out.

“I feel like this is exactly the right timing for ingestible beauty and wellness. For the past 10 years, there has been a lot of education done on benefits of eating right and not dieting. You don’t hear the word ‘diet’ a lot nowadays. I never loved the word, as it has a negative connotation and reinforces unnatural starvation. US consumers have now been exposed to the benefits of consuming foods that are good for our body and mind. What had been largely missed in that education, is the impact of food we consume, and especially superfoods, on beauty – skin tone, skin glow, ageless beauty, clear complexion,” she said.

“US consumers, especially millennials, understand the game of beauty foods, and they play it right ingesting it rather than applying it,” she added.

The idea for Dope Naturally “has always been part of my life—of course not branded,” Wiesenberg told Happi. “One morning after doing Tonique, I realized that after years of being asked what do I do and eat to have the energy I have and to keep my skin toned, I gave the answer “I DOPE- of course, naturally. Food is my dope, my drug, that makes me feel good and look good without the side effects of the dope people know.”

Wiesenberg said she is disappointed that consumers have been misled by marketing and packaging.

“Vocabulary used on labels—products that are marked organic, natural, healthy—are diluted with cheap fillers and sugars. Why would you add sugar to fruits and vegetables and cover their real taste? And the highlighted ingredient is at the very bottom of the ingredient list. So, in order to create a contrast between Dope Naturally and other brands, I decided to deliver the purest, most potent ingredients, and stick to four of them and add absolutely nothing else!

The Dope Naturally line (designed to be mixed into a smoothie or drink, or added to yogurt or granola) includes Atomic Beauty, which is formulated with fulvic acid, a compound found in soil. Naturally rich in electrolytes, fulvic acid keeps the body hydrated and promotes faster muscle regeneration and cell recovery. Its ionic trace minerals increase absorption of nutrients and assist with detoxification, while the presence of probiotics and prebiotics keep your gut healthy. The result, according to the brand, is the beauty benefit of toned and youthful skin and healthy hair.

Atomic Beauty is also formulated with three additional ingredients: watermelon seed powder (naturally rich in arginine and lysine, amino acids that promote collagen formation and improve metabolism, maintain toned skin, and a youthful and vibrant appearance); sunflower seed powder (rich in magnesium and a significant source of plant based protein that is high in vitamin E); and coconut milk powder (which promotes faster muscle recovery by supplying more oxygen to muscles and tissues).

Additional blends in the line include Melonaid (watermelon seeds, whole and sprouted beets, dragonfruit and strawberries), Beet Force (organic beets, dragonfruit, mangosteen and mulberries) and Beet Bliss (beets, raw cacao, baobab and mangosteen).

Wiesenberg says keeps her ingredients list intentionally short so that her blends can deliver the right amount of each ingredient with its full benefits.

“It is pointless to say you will get 20 superfoods in one serving that other brands offer, but what you really get is a serving of 10-15 gram blend—do your math—of less than 1 gram of each ingredient which means you get no real benefit from the listed ingredient,” she said.

Dope Naturally is currently carried in a growing list of stores that  include Revolve.com, Riley Rose, Urban Outfitters, FreePeople.comAmazon.com and Anthropolgie.com.
